    Tiger orchid (Grammatophyllum scriptum) is one of the rare orchid species. Orchids are also an export commodity in Indonesia, have potential as a drug and a mixture of fragrant oils for rich aroma. However, the very slow growth of tiger orchid, alteration or destruction of habitat grows orchids into local logging, agriculture or settlements led to the existence of tiger orchid is getting harder to find. Responding to the need to attempt to increase crop production G. scriptum through in vitro culture techniques for propagation and seed storage by developing synthetic. Protocorm Like Bodies (PLB) G. scriptum which has been subcultured then encapsulated using sodium alginate and CaCl2 to form synthetic seeds and hormone IAA added various concentrations (0 mg/l; 0,5 mg/l; 1 mg/l; 1.5 mg/l; 2 mg/l) after that, synthetic seeds were grown on cotton to determine the optimal concentration of hormones in the growth of synthetic seeds G. scriptum. Quantitative data analysis performed by Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) includes measurements of persentatiom seedling, plant height, root growth and fresh weight, if there is a real difference followed by DMRT. Qualitative data analysis is done by observing the growth of synthetic seeds. The result showed that the best IAA hormon concentration for the G. scriptum seedling is 1 mg/l, also the best IAA hormone concentration for the highest growth of G. scrptum is IAA 1 mg/l.
