    Abstract

    One way to increase the production of red rice is tested in this study through dry land rice cultivation technique by arrangement the plant population and fertilizer doses. The aim of this study is to obtain the populations of plants and manure proper dosage in order to get the results of the optimal grain red rice. This study uses a group of Randomized Completed Block Design (RCBD) factorial with two treatment factors, the plant population (scatterplot, 2,4,6 seeds/hole) and manure doses (3, 5, 7, 10 ton/ha). Each treatment combination is repeated 3 times. The results showed that populations of plants gave a different effect on all variables except for the variable observations of plant height and weight of 100 seeds per plot. While the dose of manure having the same effect on all the variables observations. Plant populations of 6 seeds/hole was the most optimal plant populations. Setting of 6 seeds/hole with 3 tons/ha of cow manure could be recommended to be applied for the farmers, especially the farmers of Tawangsari village.
