    Abstract

    Rice is one of the crops that is important in human life. Sheath blight (Rhizoctonia solani) is one of the important disease of rice. Sheath blight can cause yield reduction significantly. This study aimed to evaluate the resistance of some varieties of rice to sheath blight and the factors that affect the intensity of the disease in Lempong Jenawi Karanganyar. This study was conducted in Lempong Jenawi Karanganyar from July to September 2012. This study is a survey research sampling techniques conducted by purposive sampling. The study consisted of field surveys, observation of disease intensity, and the questionnaire for farmer responding. The data obtained were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis and test T. The results showed that there is a variation in the resistance of rice varieties to sheath blight in Lempong, Jenawi, Karanganyar from the lowest is Srikiti, Ciherang, HT, Darsono, Inpari 13, Menthik, IR64 respectively. P fertilizer affected on the intensity of sheath blight. Dose of fertilizer N, K, S, cropping system, irrigation system, high of flooding, seed certification, the use of organic fertilizer and foliar fertilizer had no effect on the intensity of sheath blight.
