    Abstract

    The objective of research is to study the value chain and efficiency of jamur kuping (wood ear or cloud ear mushroom) agribusiness in Karanganyar Regency of Central Java. The data collection was conducted with interview technique, using questionnaire prepared previously. Meanwhile the sample was taken using non-probabilistic technique with seeder as the entry point that was investigated using snowball system to obtain the sample from the next point to the consumer. From this technique, 47 samples were obtained consisting: 2 seeders (the one who cultivate the seed), 12 bagloger, 21 farmers, 12 traders with varied level. The result of study showed that there were 9 channel patterns in the value chain of jamur kuping agribusiness, with the main performers determining in the jamur kuping value chain: seeder/bagloger, particularly in determining the quality of product, while the breeder receives the highest risk and profit values. Furthermore, viewed from the profit level, the highest one nominally was breeder in all channels with proportion ranging from 78,91% to 87,48%; meanwhile, viewed from the operating efficiency with mark up on selling, it could be seen that all marketing pattern had been efficient viewed from the breeder aspect, because the proportion ranged from 80,16% to 87,60%.
