    Abstract

    ASBTRACT The purpose of this study is the sum enhancing the fifth grade students state elementary school 3 ofKarangdowo school using team quiz method of the school year 2012/2013.This research is a form of classroom action research by using 2 cycles. Each cycle consists of four stages, namely: planning, action, observation, and reflection. As a research subject is the fifth grade students state elementary school 3 of Karangdowo. Data was collected through tests, observations, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique used is an interactive data analysis model that has three main components, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion or verification. Based on the results of this study concluded that the class action in the first cycle showed an increase in the ability add fractions with an average grade of 62.85 on average the class before action 43.96. Percentage of students who scored above 65 were 9 students or 69.46% increased by 8 students from prior actions that only 1 students who scored in the top 65 of the 13 students who used the data in this study. At the end of the second cycle of the mean value increased to 80.81 with the percentage of students scoring above 65 as much as 100%. Thus, it can be made a conclusion that the team quizmethod can improve the ability of add fractions in fifth grade state elementery school 3 of Karangdowo in the academic year 2012/2013.
