    Abstract

    Abstract: The purpose of this research is to increase the concept understanding of the of geometrical properties by applying Realistic Mathematic Education (RME) approach at 4th grade students SDN Jirapan I at 2012/2013 academic year. The form of this research was classroom action research that has been done in two cycles. Data collection techniques used interview, observation, test, and documentation. The technique of data analysis used comparative descriptive model. The results showed that the implementation of Realistic Mathematic Education (RME) approach can increase the understanding of the concept of geometrical properties at 4th grade SDN Jirapan I at 2012/2013 academic year. The improvements can be evidenced by an increasing in the average value of the class and the classical completeness pracycle only is 17,14%, first cycle is 74,28%, and second cycle is 88,57%. Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep sifat-sifat bangun ruang melalui penerapan Pendekatan Realistic Mathematic Education (RME) pada siswa kelas IV SDN Jirapan I. Bentuk penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilakukan dalam dua siklus. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara, observasi, tes, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan teknik analisis model analisis deskriptif komparatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan Pendekatan Realistic Mathematic Education (RME) dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep sifat-sifat bangun ruang pada siswa kelas IV SDN Jirapan I tahun pelajaran 2012/2013. Peningkatan tersebut dibuktikan dengan adanya peningkatan nilai rata-rata kelas dan ketuntasan klasikal yaitu pada pratindakan hanya 17,14%, pada siklus I 74,28%, dan siklus II 88,57%.
