Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the effect of unemployment on inflation, population growth and the minimum wage. This type of research is quantitative research. Year study period, from 1993 - 2012 using a multiple linear regression analysis techniques. Data sourced from BPS Indonesia. The estimation results indicate that: a) inflation and no significant negative effect on the unemployment rate, b) population growth is positive and significant impact on the unemployment rate, c) Wages positive and significant impact on the unemployment rate. The coefficient of determination (r2) is 0.601 for the variable inflation, population growth and wages. Recommendations from this study are: a) the government must restrain population growth rate, b) the company must use humans in every production, c) wage rates shall be in accordance with the Living Needs (KHL). Keywords: Unemployment, Wages, Inflation, Population Growth Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh pengangguran terhadap inflasi, pertumbuhan penduduk dan upah minimum. Jenis penelitan ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif. Periode penelitian yaitu dari tahun 1993 – 2012 dengan menggunakan tehnik analisi regresi berganda linier. Data bersumber dari BPS Indonesia. Hasil estimasi menunjukkan bahwa: a) Inflasi berpengaruh negative dan tidak signifikan terhadap rasio pengangguran, b) Pertumbuhan penduduk berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap rasio pengangguran, c) Upah berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap rasio pengangguran. Koefisien determinasi (r2) yaitu 0,601 untuk variable inflasi,pertumbuhan penduduk dan upah. Rekomendasi dari penelitian ini adalah: a) pemerintah harus menahan laju pertumbuhan penduduk, b) perusahaan harus menggunakan manusia dalam setiap produksinya, c) tingkat upah harus sesuai dengan Kebutuhan Hidup Layak (KHL).
