    Abstract

    The objectives of the research are to find out the correlation between (1) The perception in using audio-visual media toward student’s history learning achievement (2) the influence of perception in using problem solving method toward student’s history learning achievement (3) the perception in using audiovisual media and problem solving method simultaneously toward student’s history learning achievement. This researcher used quantitative method. The study was carried out at Senior High School State Gondangrejo. The population was the 11 th grade social students of Senior High School State Gondangrejo. The sample was 64 students taken by cluster random sampling technique. The instruments in collecting the data were questionnaire and documentation. The questionnaire was used to collect the data of perception in using audio visual media and perception in using problem solving method whereas the documentation was used to collect the data of student’s history learning achievement. The technique which was used to analyze the data was Multiple Regression Correlation. The results of the data analysis show that in the level of significance ɑ= 0.05 (1) there is a positive correlation and significance between perception in using audio visual media and student’s history learning achievement of the 11 th grade students of Senior High School State Gondangrejo in the academic year of 2012/2013, shown that thitung = 6,787 and the significance ρ = 0,000 < 0.05, so the hypothesis as follows is accepted. (2) there is a positive correlation and significance between perception in using problem solving method and student’s history learning achievement of the 11 th grade students of Senior High School State Gondangrejo in the academic year of 2012/2013, shown that thitung= 7,538 and the significance ρ = 0,000 < 0,05, so the hypothesis as follows is accepted (3) there is a positive correlation and significance between perception in using audio visual media and problem solving method simultaneously toward student’s history learning achievement of the 11 th grade students of Senior High School State Gondangrejo in the academic year of 2012/2013, shown that thitung = 61,547 and the significance ρ = 0,000 < 0,05 , so the hypothesis as follows is accepted. Based on the result of the study, it is known that perception in using audio visual media and problem solving method are important factors that give contribution to student’s history learning achievement. Both perception in using audio visual method and problem solving method have a significance influence toward student’s history learning achievement.
