    Abstract

    ABSTRACT This article reports the experimental result of fabrication of designing landslide fiber sensor prototype with coil configuration using a mechanical linear device. The purpose of this research is to fabricate a mechanical linear device that can convert meter displacement into milimeter scale, to find relationship between displacement and the amount of light detected by a detector, and to learn the effect of optical fiber coil amount used with sensor effeciency made. Convertion factor of the linier mechanical device is 100:1. Coil diameters used are 1.7 cm, 1.4 cm, and 1 cm. with number of coil is varied from 1 to 4. An result of that displacement is curvature change from circle shape into ellips shape. Result of the experiment is that optical fiber with more coil number and smaller diameter coil would result in higher sensitivity. The most sensitive fiber sensor obtained from this experiment is that made of coil with diameter of 1 cm and coil number of 4 coils, with the sensitivity of transmission gradient valued -4.446 mm-1 with level of confidence of R2= 0.99.
