    Abstract

    ABSTRAK Dennis BudhiSetyaNingrum, D1810017, PENGEMBANGAN KOMPETENSI STAFDI UPT PERPUSTAKAAN STIE “AUB”SURAKARTA, Program Studi D3 Perpustakaan, Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Politik, Universitas Sebelas Maret Surakarta, Mei 2013. Tujuan dari penelitian Tugas Akhir ini adalah Mengetahui Pengembangan Kompetensi Staff di UPT Perpustakaan AUB Surakarta, mempertahankan kompetensi staff di UPT Perpustakaan AUB Surakarta, mengetahui hambatanhambatan dan pemecahan masalah apa saja yang di temukan dalam pengembangan kompetensi staff di UPT Perpustakaan AUB Surakarta. Penelitian Tugas Akhir ini menggunakan metode penelitian observasi, metode wawancaran, metode dokumentasi, dan Literasi (Studi Literatur). Hasil dari penelitian Tugas Akhir ini dapat disimpulkanbahwakompetensiataukemampuandidefinisikansebagaisuatusifatdasar seseorang yang dengansendirinyaberkaitandenganpelaksanaansuatupekerjaansecaraefektifatausan gatberhasil. Pelatihan dan pengembangan merupakan juga berguna untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan, keterampilan dan kemampuan. (1) Pengembangan kompetensi di Perpustakaan”AUB” Surakartamencakup latihan dan pengembangan. (2) Mempertahankankompetensi staf di UPT Perpustakaan AUB SurakartaSurakarta akanmemberikanpelatihankepadastaf “AUB” Surakarta agar lebih ahli pada bidang IT yaitu dalam pembuatan software, sehingga dalam pengembangan kompetensi staf di “AUB” Surakarta di bidang komputer cukup baik dalam sistem komputerisasinya.(3) Hambatan-hambatan dan pemecahan masalah yang di temukandalampengembanganKompetensi Staf di UPT Perpustakaan AUB Surakarta: kurangnya pelatihan pustakawan, pemimpin kurang berkoordinasi dengan staf-stafnya, jurusan pustakawan yang berada di Perpustakaan “AUB” hanya ada 2 orang, lainnya lulusan SMA, jadi pengembangan kompetensi staf kurang berjalan dengan baik, Jabatan rangkap. Adapun saran untukmemajukanperpustakaanlebihupdatepelayanan,koleksi, tataruangdanfasilitasperpustakaan, membenahilagipenataankoleksinya, menambahstafpustakawandanmemberipelatihandanpendidikan. The purpose of this final study is Knowing Staff Competence Development at AUB Library Unit Surakarta, maintaining staff competence in Surakarta AUB Library Unit, knowing the obstacles and solving any problems that were found in the development of staff competencies in Surakarta AUB Library Unit. The final study using observational research methods, methods wawancaran, documentation methods, and Literacy (Literature). Final results of this study it can be concluded that the competence or capability is defined as a person's basic nature is in itself associated with the implementation of an effective job or very successful. Training and development is also useful to improve the knowledge, skills and abilities. (1) Development of competence in the Library “AUB” Surakarta include training and development. (2) Maintaining staff competency in Surakarta Surakarta AUB Library Unit will provide training to staff “AUB” Surakarta to be more expert in the field of IT is in software development, resulting in the development of staff competencies in “AUB” Surakarta in quite well in the field of computer systems komputerisasinya . (3) constraints and solving problems that were found in the development of staff competencies in Surakarta AUB Library Unit: librarians lack of training, lack of coordination with the leaders of its staff, librarians who are majoring in the Library “AUB” there are only 2 people, other graduate SMA, so the lack of staff competence development goes well, Duplicate position. The suggestion to promote more updates library services, collections, and library facilities layout, fix again structuring the collection, adding librarians and staff training and education.
