    Harenilina Yuningputri. THE EFFECT OF THICKNESS VARIATION HONEYCOMB CORE CORRUGATED B-FLUTE TYPE DUE TO BENDING STRESS CHARACTERISTICS OF COMPOSITE SANDWICH FIBER CANTULA. Thesis. Faculty of Teacher Training and Education Sebelas Maret University. Surakarta. October 2013 The purpose of this research was to determine the Bending stress of composite sandwich cantula fiber by using variation honeycomb core corrugated B-flute type with the different thickness. This research was done by flexural tests on sandwich composite specimen with reference to ASTM C 393. The face in this study using cantula fiber, Polyester resin Unsaturatd Yukalac ® 157 BQTN-EX, and metyl etyl ketone peroxide catalyst (MEKPO). The core is made of cardboard B-flute type and compiled using PV Ac-Fox. Epoxy adhesive is used Versamid 140. Hand lay-up method is used to create a composite cantula with weight fraction 40%. Test specimen is done by varying the core with a thickness of 10 mm, 20 mm, 30 mm, and 40 mm. sandwich composite test specimens were tested using machine Universal Testing Machine (UTM). The data and the results showed core thickness variations affect Bending stress, core shear stress, and the facing Bending stress. The addition of core thickness causes a decrease in Bending stress, core shear stress, and facing Bending stress. value is 14.53 MPa, core shear strength value is 0.64 MPa, and the value of facing Bending stress is 14.35 MPa. Oktober 2013 Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kekuatan bending komposit sandwich serat cantula dengan menggunakan variasi core honeycomb kardus tipe B-flute yang memliki ketebalan berbeda. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan melakukan pengujian bending pada spesimen komposit sandwich dengan mengacu pada standar ASTM C 393. Face dalam penelitian ini menggunakan serat cantula, resin Unsaturated Polyester Yukalac® 157 BQTN-EX, dan katalis metyl etyl keton peroksida (MEKPO). Core dibuat dari kardus tipe B-flute dan disusun menggunakan PV Ac-Fox. Adhesive yang dipakai yaitu epoxy Versamid 140. Metode hand lay up dipakai untuk membuat komposit cantula dengan fraksi berat 40%. Spesimen uji dilakukan dengan melakukan variasi ketebalan core 10 mm, 20 mm, 30 mm, dan 40 mm. Spesimen uji komposit sandwich diuji dengan menggunakan Universal Testing Machine (UTM). Data dan hasil penelitian menunjukkan variasi ketebalan core mempengaruhi tegangan bending, tegangan geser core, dan tegangan bending face. Penambahan ketebalan core mengakibatkan penurunan tegangan bending, tegangan geser core, dan tegangan bending face. Nilai tertinggi didapatkan pada ketebalan core 10 mm dengan tegangan bending sebesar 14,53 MPa, nilai tegangan geser core sebesar 0,64 MPa, dan nilai tegangan bending face sebesar 14,35 MPa.
