    Abstract

    ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca permulaan melalui media talking book bagi siswa tunagrahita ringan kelas II SLB Negeri Kendal tahun pelajaran 2012/2013. Pendekatan penelitian menggunakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Penelitian dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, yang tiap siklus terdiri atas perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi dan refleksi. Subyek penelitian seluruh siswa tunagrahita ringan kelas II semester I SLB Negeri Kendal berjumlah lima siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, dokumentasi dan tes. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif komparatif, yaitu dengan membandingkan nilai sebelum menggunakan media talking book dan nilai setelah menggunakan media talking book. Hasil penelitian data awal nilai rata-rata 46 dengan ketuntasan klasikal 20% dari KKM 60. Hasil tes pada siklus I, diketahui nilai rata-rata 58 atau ketuntasan klasikal sebesar 60%. Hasil tes pada siklus II, diketahui nilai rata-rata 70, seluruh siswa mendapat nilai 0. Ketuntasan klasikal telah mencapai 100%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan media talking book dapat meningkatkan kemampuan membaca permulaan dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia bagi siswa tunagrahita ringan kelas II SLB Negeri Kendal tahun pelajaran 2012/201 ASBTRACT The research goal is to improve reading ability commencement by using talking book media for second grade mentally retarded students SLB Negeri Kendal in the first semester academic year of 2012/2013. The research approach is using classroom action research or PTK. The research was conducted in two cycles, and every cycles consist of planning, acting, observating, and reflecting. The research subject is all of second grade mentally retarded students SLB Negeri Kendal in the first semester academic year of 2012/2013 where total numbers is five students. Data collection technique is using observation, documentation and testing. Data analysis technique is using comparative descriptive analysis, it has been by comparing value before using talking book media and value after using it. The initial results of the study data is an average of 46 to 20% classical completeness of KKM 60. Results of tests on the first cycle, known to the average value of 58 or classical completeness by 60%. Test results in the second cycle, known to the average value of 70, all students scored 60. Classical completeness has reached 100%. Based on the research result, it can be concluded that using talking book media could improve students ability in reading commencement in learning bahasa Indonesia for mentally retarded student in general and for second grade mentally retarded students SLB Negeri Kendal in the first semester academic year of 2012/2013 in particular.
