THE INFLUENCE OF APPLYING THE MODEL OF PROBLEM-BASED LEARNING AND LEARNING MOTIVATION TOWARD LEARNING ACHIEVEMENT OF SOCIOLOGY OF THE ELEVENTH GRADE SOCIAL PROGRAM STUDENT SMA NEGERI 2 SUKOHARJO SCHOOL YEAR 2012/2013. Thesis, Surakarta: Teacher Training and Education faculty. July 2013. This research aims to find out: (1) the influence of applying the model of problem-based learning on learning achievement of sociology of the eleventh grade Social Program student SMA Negeri 2 Sukoharjo. (2) the influence of motivation on learning achievement sociology of the eleventh grade Social Program student SMA Negeri 2 Sukoharjo. (3) the influence of applying both the model of problem-based learning and learning motivation towards learning achievement of sociology of the eleventh grade Social Program student SMA Negeri 2 Sukoharjo school year 2012/2013. This research uses descriptive quantitative method. The research target was 144 students of eleventh grade majoring in social program SMA Negeri 2 Sukoharjo school year 2012/2013. The samples were taken by random sampling technique by taking 43 students of the 144 students. Technique of data collection was completed by using questionnaires and documentation. Technique of data analysis used was statistical analysis with multiple regression techniques. Based on the result of the research, it can be concluded that: (1) hypothesis 1 “There was significant positive influence in applying the model of problem based learning toward learning achievement of sociology of the eleventh grade Social Program student SMA Negeri 2 Sukoharjo school year 2012/2013” was accepted. It can be seen from the result of data analysis which shows rx 1y = 0,730 and p = 0,000, Relative Contribution is 51, 74%, and Effective Contribution is 30,89%, (significant). (2) hypothesis 2 “There was significant positive influence in learning motivation toward learning achievement of sociology of the eleventh grade Social Program student SMA Negeri 2 Sukoharjo school year 2012/2013” was accepted. It can be seen from the result of data analysis which shows rx 2y = 0,730 and p = 0,000, Relative Contribution is 49,29%, and Effective Contribution is 28,83%, (significant). (3) Hypothesis 3 “There was significant positive influence in applying the model of problem based learning and learning motivation toward learning achievement of sociology of the eleventh grade Social Program student SMA Negeri 2 Sukoharjo school year 2012/2013” was accepted. It can be seen from the result of data analysis which shows R y(x1x2) = 0,773, p=0,000, F=29,623%, Relative Contribution is 100%, and Effective Contribution is 59,72%, (significant). The conclusion is the application of problem based learning (PBL) is good model for sociology subject because it can improve the learning achievement of the student. Learning motivation influences the achievement of the student because the student have motivate to study. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui : (1) Pengaruh Penerapan Model Problem Based Learning terhadap Prestasi Belajar Sosiologi Siswa Kelas XI IPS SMA Negeri 2 Sukoharjo, (2) Pengaruh Motivasi Belajar terhadap Prestasi belajar Sosiologi Siswa Kelas XI IPS SMA Negeri 2 Sukoharjo, (3) Pengaruh Penerapan Model Problem Based Learning dan Motivasi Belajar secara bersama terhadap Prestasi Belajar Sosiologi Siswa Kelas XI IPS SMA Negeri 2 Sukoharjo Tahun Pelajaran 2012/2013. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI jurusan IPS SMA Negeri 2 Sukoharjo Tahun Pelajaran 2012/2013 sebanyak 144 siswa. Sampel diambil dengan teknik random sampling cara undian sejumlah 43 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan angket dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis statistik dengan teknik regresi ganda. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa : (1) hipotesis 1 “Ada pengaruh positif yang signifikan antara penerapan model problem based learning terhadap prestasi belajar sosiologi pada siswa kelas XI IPS SMA Negeri 2 Sukoharjo tahun pelajaran 2012/2013” diterima. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari hasil analisis data yang menunjukkan rx1y = 0,730 dan p = 0,000, Sumbangan Relatif (SR) sebesar 51,74% dan Sumbangan Efektif (SE) sebesar 30,89%, (signifikan). (2) hipotesis 2 “Ada pengaruh positif yang signifikan antara motivasi belajar terhadap prestasi belajar sosiologi pada siswa kelas XI IPS SMA Negeri 2 Sukoharjo tahun pelajaran 2012/2013” diterima. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari hasil analisis data yang menunjukkan rx2y = 0,730 dan p = 0,000, Sumbangan Relatif (SR) sebesar 49,29% dan Sumbangan Efektif (SE) sebesar 28,83%, (signifikan). (3) hipotesis 3 “Ada pengaruh positif yang signifikan antara penerapan model problem based learning dan motivasi belajar secara bersama terhadap prestasi belajar sosiologi pada siswa kelas XI IPS SMA Negeri 2 Sukoharjo tahun pelajaran 2012/2013” diterima. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari hasil analisis data yang menunjukkan Ry(x1x2) = 0,773, p = 0,000, dan F = 29,623%, Sumbangan Relatif (SR) sebesar 100% dan Sumbangan Efektif sebesar 59,72%, (signifikan). Kesimpulan, penerapan model problem based learning (PBL) baik bagi mata pelajaran sosiologi karena dapat meningkatkan prestasi belajar. Motivasi belajar, mempengaruhi prestasi belajar siswa karena siswa terdorong untuk bersemangat dalam melakukan tindakan belajar. Kata Kunci : Model Problem based Learning. Motivasi Belajar.
