    Abstract

    The purpose of this research was to increase (1) student learning creativity and (2) studend motivation through contextual model of learning science in the fifth year of Semester 1 of SDN Karangasem 03. This research was a classroom action research. The experiment was conducted in two cycles, with each cycle consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subjects were students of fifth year SDN Karangasem 03, Laweyan, Surakarta academic year of 2010. Source of data derived from teacher and student information, the results of observation and documentation. Data collection technique was observervation, tests, documentation, and anquite. The validity of the data used triangulation techniques and methods of data triangulation. Descriptive data analysis was qualitative by using an interactive model analysis techniques. Research procedure was a spiral model of inter-related. Based on results of the research, it could be concluded that student's creativity and motivation in science learning in fifth year of SDN Karangasem 03, Laweyan, Surakarta increased after implemented contextual learning model. Increasing students' creativity in mind with creativity test results conducted in prior cycles, the end of the cycle I, and the end of cycle II shows the increase in the average score of student creativity in prasiklus of 36 (low), the first cycle of 47 (high lower limit), and the cycle II amounted to 55 (high limit). Maximum score is 80. Improving student motivation can be seen from the results of student questionnaires have increased in each cycle. The improvement is shown an average score of student motivation on the prior cycle of 19 (lower limit), the first cycle of 24 (high lower limit), and cycle II amounted to 28 (high limit).
