    Abstract

    ABSTMK: Art education is initially conscious effort to pass on the ability of art as a manifestation of the transformation of cuJture from generation to generation which is done by the artists to anyone who is called to become a candidate for an artist A further development of art education began to be institutionalized process of both formal and non-formal. lnheritance of the art s)lstem is not always done by other artists, but by educators or anyone who is able to learn one. Transformation of culture through the arts is a necessity because the culture gave birth to the arts. The other side of the arts function in culture is to meet needs: religious, social, political, economic, and educational psychologl. Afurther development of art education is not only required to educate children in art, but also is required to develop multi-intelligence capability. Pragmatic.s as a way of communication that swooped on speakers mean is very logical to be part of the full analysis for students in an effort to develop multi-intelligence, in understanding the work of visual art, from the creators intention in presenting his art. Pragmatic.s as a science has its own characteristics which can be used as one method in analyzing a work of art students of FKIP.
