    Abstract

    This study aimed to determine: (1) The characteristics of circular migrant factory workers PT. Ladewindo Garment Manufacture (2) Circular migration process of migrant factory workers PT. Ladewindo Garment Manufacture (3) The relationship between the characteristics of the process of circular migration factory workers PT. Ladewindo Garment Manufacture in District Karanganyar in 2012. This study used a qualitative descriptive method. Subjects of this study is circulator factory workers PT. Ladewindo Garment Manufacture, Karanganyar. The sample in this study was 75. Data collection techniques using observation, questionnaires, and documentation. Technical analysis of the data used in the form of a frequency table to determine the percentage of data The result of this study is : (1) The characteristics circular migrant factory workers PT. Ladewindo Garment Manufacture is: (a) Age of circular migrants ranged from 19-27 years with the majority of women and marital status. (b) The level of education is senior high school circular migrants. (c) Before committing the bulk circular migration migrants were unemployed with income of less than Rp. 100,000.00. The main motive of employment as factory workers is because it's easier to get a job. Older works are 2 - <4 years and as permanent workers. The system is the monthly salary received and they work in day shift. As for the revenue is Rp. 900,000.00. While remittances given to the family of Rp. 201,000.00 - Rp. 300,000.00. (2) Circular migration process is: Source of information they receive about the work place from a friend. Distance to the destination with the region of origin is 31-40 km. Return frequency is 1 to 3 weeks. They live in boarding houses or contracting. (3) The relationship between characteristics of circular migration with circular migration process is: There was no relationship between increasing age with circular migration. Women are more likely to work in a PT. Ladewindo Garment Manufacture. Someone with unmarried status also have a greater likelihood to make circular migration. The higher a person's education level, the higher the possibility of circular migration. The less potential income earned in the region of origin, the more likely to migrate. There was no relationship between motivation, work duration, work systems, work relationship system, income and remittances with circular migratio. The conclusion of this study is: (1) characteristics of circular migrant factory workers PT. Ladewindo Garment Manufacture is as follows: (a) workers are young women with unmarried status. (b) the level of education of circular migrants are mostly high school. (c) before circular migration, most migrants are unemployed with less income. The motive of employment as labour is easier to get a job. The majority of them have been working at PT. Ladewindo Garment manufacture and as permanent workers. They receive a monthly salary with less remitance. (2) The process of circular migration is as follows: they received job information from friends. The distance between the target area and region of origin is relatively far. Frequency of return is less than one month. They live in boarding houses or contracting. The relationship between characteristics of circular migration with circular migration process is: There was no relationship between increasing age with circular migration. Women are more likely to work in a PT. Ladewindo Garment Manufacture. Someone with unmarried status also have a greater likelihood to make circular migration.
