    Abstract

    Josroyo Indah housing located at Jaten sub district on the District of Karanganyar indicates that it has a similar situation with the flood problem on the rainy season. In that area, the performance of drainage system is determined by involving of community participation. In addition, due to lack of governments operation and maintenance cost, most of drainage system mainly is managed by community participation. Therefore the drainage condition needs to be evaluated by sustainable drainage system based on public or community participatory concept. Related to this problem, these research objectives focused on: 1) Identifying the community participation of drainage system management, 2) Evaluating the performance of drainage. The research methodology is based on evaluative descriptive, while the data analysis uses qualitative descriptive method and quantitative approach. The results of this study are: 1) Community participation on drainage management at Josroyo Indah housing has a good performance. 2) The value of drainage component indicated 87.35 %, it means that drainage condition in Josroyo Indah housing area has a good performance, but it still needs to improve by removing canal sedimentation and some minor rehabilitation.
