    Abstract

    The purpose of this research is to increase skills to read thebeginning of reading skill by using the Synthetic Analytic Structure (SAS) method ingrade 1 SD Negeri II Hargosari Sub Tirtomoyo Wonogiri Academic Year 2009/2010. The form used in this study was action research classes consisting of three cycles, each cycle consisting of four steps including planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. As research subject were students in grade 1 SD Negeri II Hargosari Sub Tirtomoyo Wonogiri Academic Year 2009/2010. A total of 25 students. Data collection technique used observation, testing, review documents, and recording. Data analysis techniques using an interactive model analysis technique which consists of three components of the analysis are data reduction, data, and conclusion drawing or verification. The results of this study were (1) An increase in reading skills average 67,9 on the first cycle and then on the second cycle of 72,3 and 78,3 in the third cycle. An increase in the percentage of students on study skills reading test the first cycle of 44%, then in the second cycle to 60%, and 64% in the third cycle. (2) The use of methods of learning to read SAS can improve reading skills beginning. Evidenced by an increase in student activity in the first cycle of the first meeting until the second meeting of the second cycle. Students are more enthusiastic and active in following the learning process, have strong motivation, more attention in learning, attitudes have wanted to be able to read the rise. Based on the above results it can be conclude that through the use of the SAS method to improve the reading skills of students beginning in grade 1 SD Negeri II Hargosari Sub Tirtomoyo Wonogiri Academic Year 2009/2010.
