    Abstract

    The purpose of this research is to increase motivation and student learning outcomes in mathematics subject matter addition and subtraction number to 20 by giving gifts in the first class of SD Negeri 4 Banjarejo Gabus District Grobogan Regency. Variables that were targeted changes in the study of this class action is to increase motivation and learning of mathematics in the material addition and subtraction number to 20, while variable measures used in this research is the application of giving gifts to students in learning. Forms of this study was classroom action research using the model cycle. Each cycle consists of 4 stages: it is planning, implementation of action, observation, and reflection. As a subject of study is the first class of elementary school students 4 Banjarejo Gabus District Grobogan Regency, totaly 30 students. Researchers in choosing subjects rather than individually, but in classical. Data was collected through interviews, observation, tests, and documents. This research was conducted by 2 cycles divided into 4 meetings. Based on research results, it can be concluded that in the first cycle of students who have high motivation in learning as many as 13 students or 43.33% of the total 30 students. While the average value of student learning outcomes at 60.33 with the percentage of students who scored above the KKM is 63.33%. In Cycle II students who have high motivation in learning as much as 22 students or 73.33% of the total 30 students. While the average value of student learning outcomes at 69.33 with the percentage of students who scored above 80% is KKM. Thus, to put forward a recommendation that the award could increase motivation and student learning outcomes in mathematics class I SD Negeri 4 Banjarejo Gabus District Grobogan Regency year 2010/2011
