    Abstract

    This study was aimed: 1) to develop instructional multimedia for social science which can be used to solve the student learning problems particularly regarding the inadequancy of the learning recources, and 2) to evaluate the eligibility of the instructional multimedia for social science instructional of in junior high school class VII. This study was a development research involving 56 respondents, consisting of 4 student in one-to-one try out, 12 students in small group try out and 40 students in field trial. Before try out, validation of the product were done by the content, instructional, and media aspects. Data were analyzed by using the descriptive technique. Research findings showed that: 1) the development of the instructional multimedia was conducted in accordance with the procedures of the media development, covering preliminary research, needs assessment, development of the media software design, and revisions, while the evaluation of this instructional multimedia was developed according to the procedures of the media evaluation. 2) product validations of this instructional multimedia conducted by the content experts indicated that the quality of instruction was good with an average score of 3,6 a one-to five likert type scale, the quality of content was very good with an average score of 4,8, 3) the quality face of media was very good score of 4,9, the quality of interface was very good score of 4,9, the quality of navigation was very good score of 5, the quality of power body was very good score of 5, the result of the field trial indicated that the quality of the instructional multimedia was good score of 3,9, quality of content was good of 4,1, and quality of media was good score of 4,2. 4) the result of the pre-test was 34 by way the result of the post-test was 72. The showed increasing 38 %. The result of t calculation cost = 15,864 > t table = 1,864 this proved have differentiation of significant between pre-test value and post test value to use CD instructional. The result showed that the developed instructional multimedia for science was feasible to be used as instructional media and learning resource. Keywords : Multimedia and Social Science Learning
