    Abstract

    This study aims to examine the effect of performance appraisal quality on job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and intention to quit. Performance appraisal quality as a measure of state employees in the work environment. Problem of low performance appraisal often found in family firms. This study focused on the kind of family business enterprise (FBE), a company owned and managed by its founding family. Performance appraisal is a way of measuring the contribution of individuals (employees) to the organization where they work. Performance appraisal is basically a key factor in order to develop an organization effectively and efficiently, due to a policy or program that is better on existing human resources within the organization. Job satisfaction is usually considered a short term measure. Job satisfaction is used as a measure of employee well-being (Green, 2004) and also related to productivity and safety employees (Harter et al., 2002). Organizational commitment is a consistent relationship in good faith on the basis of the influence job satisfaction (Robinson et al., 1994). Intention to quit the form of withdrawal from the organizations and may be influenced by the quality of performance appraisal. Employees tend to withdraw from situations that are contrary to their interests (Fugate et al., 2008). The sample used in this study amounted to 100 employees at the company's family of CV Yussuf & Co. in Yogyakarta. The sample was selected using random sampling techniques. Statistical analysis showed that the quality of performance appraisals affect employee satisfaction and organizational commitment to employees. The quality of employee performance appraisal does not affect employees' willingness to come out.
