    Abstract

DESIGN AND SIMULATION OF TRAFFIC LIGHT AT THE INTERSECTION WITH A MICROCONTROLLER SYSTEM AT89S51 BY USING WIRELESS NETWORK CONNECTION. 3rd Diploma Degree Computer Science, Natural Science, and Mathematics Faculty, Sebelas Maret University of Surakarta. Nowadays, computerization plays an important role in many sectors, such as, to control the situation on the street, especially at the intersection. The aim of this final project is to make simulation of traffic light at the intersection with a microcontroller system AT89S51 by using wireless network connection. It also gives an alternative controlling system more effective and efficient The method used in collecting data in the final project is observation and literature study. This device is made by using microcontroller. It is programmed by using assembly programming language or machine language. By doing traffic light simulation at the intersection with a microcontroller system AT89S51 using wireless network connection, it is concluded that this device consist of 4 parts, they are computer operator, access point as a data sender, microcontroller circuit, and light circuit. The function of computer operator is to send data by using an application which is created Borland Delphi 7. On the access point is arranged as a bridge, because it is used as a transmitter and a receiver. At once, microcontroller circuit has function as a place of processing data received. While, in light circuit is arranged as at the intersection, it will show output of processing data from microcontroller. Key Word : microcontroller, wireless, simulation traffic light, intersection
