ABSTRACT Paula Judith Hasiani Boru Sitanggang, 2004. Economic Efficiency Analysis of Usage of Production Factors on Strawberry Farming in Karanganyar Regency. Faculty of Agriculture Sebelas Maret University Surakarta. This script is compiled according to strawberry farming based on the economic theory of agriculture production. This research aims to analyze the cost, income and profit of strawberry farming, study the correlation of production factors such as land farm, labor, seed, manure, organic fertilizers, NPK fertilizer, KNO3 fertilizer, drugs, and Dolomit with production, and study the level of economic efficiency on using production factors in strawberry farming. This research conducted in monoculture strawberry farming season on January-December 2003. The basic method used in this research is descriptive and the execution used survey techniques. Research location was in Karanganyar Regency. Kalisoro district was chosen purposively because it’s a strawberry center area and the pioneer of strawberry farming in Karanganyar. Sample consists of 30 farmers picked randomly by random sampling method. Data taken are primary and secondary. The results show that mean income is Rp 138.733.421,00 per hectare, mean cost is Rp 109.917.123,00 per hectare, and mean profit is Rp 28.816.298,00 per hectare. Correlation of production factors with strawberry farming production is expressed by Cobb-Douglas production model as follows: 064 ,0 9 080 ,0 8 076 ,0 7 068 ,0 5 021 ,0 4 140 ,0 3 017 .0 2 580 ,0 1 . . . . . . . 509 , 17 X X X X X X X X Y Regression analysis result shows that using production factors together has real effects on strawberry production. Individually land farm, labor, seed, organic fertilizer, KNO3 fertilizer, dugs and Dolomit have real effect on strawberry production. While manure and NPK fertilizer don’t have real effect on strawberry production. The production elasticity is 0,846, or positive less than one (0<Ep≤1) which means production process was in stage II, the Decreasing Return to Scale. Economic efficiency analysis of production factors shows that the usage of production factors like labor, manure, organic fertilizer, KNO3 fertilizer, drugs, and Dolomit is not yet efficient, while usage of production factors like land farm, seed and NPK fertilizer is not economically efficient.
