    Abstract

    SUMMARY Peanut is the one of Legumes family which is consumted by peoples. It have high nutrition value to a people nutritions. Peanut production is on the second level after soybean. Its productivity is influced by many factors i.e. tillage, manuring, variety, environment, pest and disease management. The aim of this research was to know the effect of tillage and kinds of organic manure to growth and yield of peanut. This research was conducted at Dry Field Center Jumantono with Latosol soil and at elevation 180 m dpl. It was done from October 2004 until January 2005. The research used Split Plot Design with the main plot : Tillage System (T), consist of two levels : T0 (Without Tillage) and T1 (With Tillage) and the sub plot Kinds of Organic Manure (O), consist of five levels : O0 (Control), O1 (Azolla Manure), O2 (Cow Manure), O3 (Chicken Manure) and O4 (Kascing Manure). Every treatment with 3 replications, each replication consists of 3 plants for “destructive” and 5 plants for yield. The result showed tillage treatment influenced to the increase heigh of plant, to shorter age of flowering, increase fresh weight of biomass. Organic manure influenced to the increase heigh of plant and shorter age of flowering. The with tillage system (T1) influenced to the increase fresh weight of biomass, it was 93,961 g. The optimal heigh of plant was caused by give cow manure (O2), it was 51,61 cm. There was no interaction between tillage system and kinds of organic manuring. There was no effect obvious of tillage system and kinds of organic manuring to yield of peanut. But the highest seed weight/plant showed to the with tillage system (T1) : 17,712 g and control (O0) : 18,114 g, meanwhile the lowest was on the without tillage system (T0) : 16,931 g and on the azolla manure treatment (O1) : 15,801 g.
