    Abstract

    The aims of the research were to know the effect among guided inquiry approach through experiment and demonstration methods, analytical skill, and scientific attitude and their interaction toward students’ achievement in science. The research used quasi experimental method. The sample was taken using cluster random sampling consisted of 2 classes, VIIIB as experiment learnt by experiment method and VIIID as experiment II learnt by demonstration method. The data was collected using test for cognitive achievement and analytical skill, questionnaire for scientific attitude and affective achievement, and observation sheet for affective achievement. The data was analyzed using Anova with 2X2X2 factor design and continued using Scheffe’ calculated by PASW 18. The result showed that: (1) there was no effect of guided inquiry usage through experiment and demonstration method toward students’ achievement; (2) there was no effect of high and low of analytical skill toward students’ achievement; (3) there was effect of high and low of scientific attitudes toward students achievement; (4) there was no interaction between guided inquiry usage through experiment and demonstration method and analytical skill toward students’ achievement; (5) there was interaction between guided inquiry usage through experiment and demonstration approach and scientific attitude toward students’ achievement affective domain but there was no effectin cognitive one; (6) there was no interaction between analytical skill and scientific attitude toward students’ achievement; (7) there was no interaction among guided inquiry approach through experimentand demonstration methods, analytical skill, and scientific attitude toward students’ achievement.
